Fathom Camera was founded by camera operator and director of photography Sam Sielen who works primarily in the field of documentary and non-fiction. For over ten years, Sam has created his own custom rigs and accessories to improve the quality of his video productions.  Each of his custom parts have always been a one-off hand-made design.  While designing his third generation camera cage, he decided to take a new approach and have it CNC-milled so that it could be produced in quantity and made available to other filmmakers - and as a result, Fathom Camera was born!
